It was a lovely sight to see these kids enjoy their bus ride back home today. All the three of them were thrilled to see people on the roads walking, driving, smiling.
It is fun to be kids and going to school! I'm really impressed with this new project that has been started in India called Teach India. Teach India invites common people to remove a few hours in a week to volunteer and teach the kids who cannot get education! Brilliant initiative and there has been a brilliant response for the same. The video too is very inspiring. Do watch it!
Seeing such good initiatives taking a step forward, I do see a better face for humanity!
For the schools...

What a great idea! I couldn't get to the first link, but there were other things on YouTube as well, so I got a good idea of what this is all about. It's a brilliant initiative, if parents will send their kids (I'm thinking of Veerappa), and enough people volunteer. But here's hoping this will make a big difference. I can definitely see you volunteering, Rahul! (And you've already taught me so many things about India that I didn't know.)
Programs that encourage people to volunteer are really empowering and India seems to understand this well. I not only liked the video, but the music as well.
I also could not access the first link and like you Alexa I am learning so much about India. I have never been so I know very little, but Rahul and Company are doing such a good job of conveying the many aspects of the country.
Yes Alexa!:) Amazing initiative heh?!:) I'm sorry about the first link...it would be working now. It is www.teach.timesofindia.com
I'm really hoping it works out well. Such projects are important till a point when volunteers realize that they don't need such projects to actually go out and serve back!:)
I love the project's tag line which says - lets learn to teach!:)
Thanks From Cali!!:) Its people like you that help us keep realizing the various beautiful things happening and existing around us!:)
The music is really awesome...I'm just going to post the meaning of the words too for you guys, now!:)
"aadhe aadhe ho,
poore bano saare;
dhoondo apna aadha hissa
aur kaho -
aa re, aa re, aa re, aa re"
you are all still just half,
go, become a full, complete;
find the other half,
and say -
come...o come...o come:)
Rahul -- thanks for the translation! Is it Hindi?
I like the words too! I'm going to listen to it again. Thanks!!
Yes Alexa, it is in Hindi!:)
I LOVE the video!!:)
From Cali, I love the words too...so simple yet so effective!:)
And yup, I'm not going to call you from Cali from today...Rose!:)
