swastik

I was getting back home today and realized that the film studio behind my building has been bought over and is soon going to start again!

Earlier it was called the "Chitrarth Studios" which was a very famous studio for all the television serials and a few film shoots. Now, it is called "Swastik Pictures" and I've heard it would be hired out primarily to all the television productions. Sounds great to a person like me because this is one studio which doesn't stop visitors from coming in...sense my tone!!

I'm looking forward to the functioning of this studio! May it deliver some GOOD television series now...

For swastik studios...

Sounds like you'll be having a good time in your own backyard—very convenient for you to live next to a film studio, I must say!
I know that this is the symbol of Lord Ganesha, but it would certainly never be used over here on the other side of the planet, because you'd never convince anyone that it's not a Nazi swastika (definitely not a PC symbol).

That is what I thought, Alexa. Thank you for explaining it was the symbol for Lord Ganesha.

I've always wanted to visit Paramount Studios in Los Angeles. Perhaps one day. Let us know about your visit to Swastik when you go. Not if but when!

well to be honest, the swastik is not really a symbol for lord ganesha alone. it is a general religious symbol in india. however, post this, it was used in innumerable religions across the globe. Infact, the hindu swastik was copied and used as an official emblem of the nazi party. the nazis had the symbol a bit tilted though..

How odd the Nazi chose that symbol and then corrputed it or maybe not so odd . . .

Rahul -- Don't know where I read (or mis-read) that the swastik was associated mainly with Ganesha, but thanks —once again!—for the education.

*Nazis* - Wishful thinking made me forget the plural.
