I took this shot as I got back from Nagpur, at the airport, today. I love to see the arrival terminal at the airport! I love to see the anxious faces waiting to welcome somebody...waiting for somebody to run to them...waiting for the hugs, the smiles, waiting to stop the wait.
The city's domestic airport has recently gone through a major re-vamp and trust me, it is looking very good! It is way more organized and cleaner! Maybe that is also one of the reasons why the smiles are intact...
For the smiles that welcome...

I love the Arrivals area too—such good people-watching there, as you say. Also miss the days when you could go all the way to the gate to see someone off, watch them get on the plane, then watch the plane take off. Guess those days are over for good.
btw, you should have seen what the Bombay airport looked like when I arrived in 1967—not like this!
Ohhh...I would really love to see that...do you have any snaps of that time, Alexa??:)
I don't have any shots of the airport. In fact, I have very few photos from India because I was just not into photography that much then. Did take a very basic camera with me, though, so I'll see if I can find anything I think you might like to see.
I'd love to see them, Alexa!:)
The arrival smiles are the best. The good byes are hard.
