I took this shot at Bandra today. This is the look of the city as far as the small stores are concerned, these days. Everybody is busy selling kites on the occasion of Makar Sankranti that comes tomorrow.
I've always wanted to learn to fly kites. As a kid, I was always fond of kites and used to buy a pair of kites every year during this time, although I never used to know how to fly them. After a point, I started admiring the kites flying in the air more than making attempts to get mine to fly...
Sometimes, when I look at these kites, it simply reminds me of us and our emotions. Both keep flying in a particular direction only to realize that the wind could change everything. But we still try to get things in place and help our kites rise higher...is it the love for our emotions or simply the emotion of love?
For the kites...

Hey, I love the new look! People fly kites in our neighborhood park (beautiful Prospect Park, here in Brooklyn), and I love to watch them get them up in the air. Like you, alas, I never could do it myself. Come to NY, and we'll get someone to teach us!
Enjoy Makar Sankranti, and watch out for wayward winds . . .

Sometimes at the beach people fly really huge kites. They could hurt someone if they land on them, but I do like kites. I never learned to fly one either. Now I understand about the kites on the new banner.
